Dr. Michael Scott Phillips was born near Abilene in Stamford, Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Texas Tech University and earned his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine.  He completed his internship in internal medicine and residency in anesthesiology at The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.  During his last year of residency, he proudly served as Chief Resident.

Following residency, Dr. Phillips returned to west Texas where he practiced anesthesia and pain medicine in Abilene.  He eventually moved his family and practice to the DFW area where he was a pioneer in stem cells and regenerative medicine in the North Texas area.

Dr. Phillips is board certified and a diplomate with the American Board of Anesthesiology and American Board of Pain Medicine.  He currently serves on the boards of several medical facilities in the area and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Texas Society of Anesthesiologists, Tarrant County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, American Academy of Pain Medicine, International Spine Intervention Society, Texas Pain Society, American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine, and American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine.
